PulseTrace · Hardware Guide

Calibrate and cross-validate.
Hardware we recommend.

PulseTrace extracts micro-vascular blood volume pulses directly through your phone’s camera and flash using custom DSP. For users who want an independent physical benchmark to verify resting measurements, or athletes who need continuous tracking during motion, here are the standalone sensors we trust.

Recommended Benchmark Devices

Resting Gold Standard

Certified Fingertip Pulse Oximeter

A certified fingertip oximeter (such as the Beurer PO 30 or Pulox PO-200) uses dual-wavelength infrared transmission photoplethysmography. Excellent for side-by-side verification of PulseTrace’s camera reflection algorithm.

  • CE 0123 / ISO 80601-2-61 compliant
  • Instant SpO2 and pulse display
  • Zero app or Bluetooth pairing needed
Continuous Motion & HRV

Polar H10 ECG Chest Strap

When you are running or cycling, optical camera measurement is impossible due to movement artifacts. The Polar H10 measures actual electrical myocardial potentials with millisecond R-R interval precision.

  • Dual Bluetooth & ANT+ broadcast
  • Standard GATT heart rate profile
  • Washable pro textile chest strap
